Hong Kong police find large amount of explosives during warehouse raid
Hong Kong police seized explosives and offensive weapons in night-time raid on an industrial warehouse in the city's Tsuen Wan District, police said at a news conference on Saturday.
Police were quoted by the South China Morning Post that they found two kilos of powerful explosives, ten petrol bombs, and acidic substances. T-shirts with messages in favour of Hong Kong independence and leaflets with anti-extradition messages were also found.
Speaking to media, Chief Superintendent of Police Public Relations Branch Tse Chun-Chung confirmed that one person had been arrested, and police had not yet determined a clear motive. "The operation is still ongoing, and we may arrest more people in the coming future", Tse added.
