Global deaths pass 95,000, confirmed cases over 1.6 million

According to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, at least 95,699 people have lost their lives in the coronavirus pandemic. There are also now more than 1.6 million confirmed cases worldwide, with the exact figure at 1,600,427.
