Finnish Prime Minister marries her long time partner
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, 34 and one of the world's youngest heads of government, has married her partner for 16 years, her cabinet announced Sunday.
The couple, who has a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, married on Saturday at the prime minister's official residence, in the presence of family and closest friends, according to an official statement.
On her Instagram account, the head of government published a photo in which she appears, dressed in white and holding a bouquet of flowers, with her husband, Markus Räikkönen.
I am happy and grateful to be able to share my life with the man I love, said Marin in her post.
In December, Marin, a Social Democrat, was elected Prime Minister of Finland and became at that time the youngest ruler in the world, a place she lost shortly after when Austrian Sebastian Kurz, 33, came to power.
